The hiring of Nigerian nationals who have been educated abroad and want to return to work in Nigeria (or "International Recruiting") is viewed as a key corporate strategic initiative for ExxonMobil's subsidiaries in Nigeria. Most of these candidates are drawn from the technical disciplines - Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Facilities, Metallurgical, etc) and Geosciences, but a few candidates with Business degrees have been hired for Accounting and Procurement positions.
Candidates may be identified by ExxonMobil campus recruiting teams in the USA, the UK, Canada, etc. or they may be identified simply by submitting their resume via this Website. Candidates are evaluated against qualifications for vacant positions, their desire to work in the specified work location, and legal eligibility to work in Nigeria. The local Nigerian business line is then notified of the suitable candidates. To ensure equity and fair play, all candidates participate in the same aptitude testing, skill testing, and interviews as applied in the local recruiting process and as described in the Recruiting Process section of this Website.
