ExxonMobil is the largest oil producer
in Equatorial Guinea, operating 2 blocks covering about 1.2 million gross
acres offshore the Island of Bioko. Building on early exploration achievements
a successful development program, and optimization of existing
infrastructure, production in the Zafiro field increased to more that 270
thousand barrels per day.

translated into an improved quality of life in Equatorial Guinea. The company
has invested more than $4 million in community projects, most of which is
bridge construction, electrical power supply, construction of utility lines to
bring water to several local villages, construction of local schools,
contributions to malaria control programs, scholarships to EG nationals in US
colleges, employees and contractors training programs in EG, USA and Canada,
secondment assignments for employees of the Ministry of Mines and Energy
(MME), and expatriate assignments for national employees.
